CSR for Business Growth
Business Growth – Despite its global acceptance, some individuals and organizations in Africa continue to believe that local business organizations are exempt from CSR investment. However, research and data have shown that organizations invest in CSR grow alongside their societies because consumers perceive them to be more socially responsible. Some companies in Nigeria are quickly recognizing this global trend, while others are still stuck in the past.
Two weeks ago, as part of the activities planned to commemorate the 10th anniversary of a Lagos-based creative agency, X3M Ideas, the agency donated a reading hub to the school to help students improve their literacy.
CSR Initiatives In the past decade, X3M Ideas has consistently delivered influential social intervention initiatives that also include renovation of classrooms, office blocks, sick bays, libraries and donating computers, UPS devices, air conditioners, internet modems with data plans to public schools in Lagos.
However, according to Mr. Steve Babaeko, Chief Executive Officer of X3M Ideas, the 10th anniversary CSR project focused on deepening reading culture in public schools through the donation of reading hubs for strategic reasons.
During his speech at the unveiling, Babaeko reiterated his commitment to changing the reading culture among Lagos’ young peopleSt
“X3M Ideas will not relent in our attempt to support Nigerian youngsters, particularly those enrolled in the local public school system,” he declared. To the pupils’ advantage, we’ll continuously deliver social intervention programmes that have an impact. To provide these young people with concepts that can transform the world, this reading centre is cutting-edge, practical, and furnished with a library that makes books available.

Earlier, the Lagos State Commissioner for Education, Folashade Adefisayo, had stated that the community-centred CSR initiative by the creative agency would help students redirect their time and resources better towards improving education outcomes in the state.
“In this era of social media, school children are easily distracted. But this reading hub will make it easier for them to renegotiate their time for studies and leisure in order to become knowledgeable youth and ultimately future leaders,” stated Adefisayo, who was represented by the Director, Lagos State Ministry of Education, Grace Akinfoyewa.
To combat the epidemic, X3M Concepts supplied special wash stations and disinfectant tunnels to a few Lagos schools in 2020. In 2013, the organisation celebrated its first anniversary by renovating a block of five classrooms at Opebi Senior High School, which is in the neighbourhood of its Lagos office.
