Edwards Lifesciences – Healthcare Plastics Recycling Council
The global pioneer in patient-focused medical breakthroughs for structural heart disease and critical care monitoring, Edwards Lifesciences, has joined the Healthcare Plastics Recycling Council (HPRC) and we are delighted to welcome them.
Peylina Chu, Director of HPRC, stated “We are really thrilled to welcome Edwards Lifesciences as a new member.” According to the UN Sustainable Development Targets, Edwards has highly specific and aspirational sustainability goals (UN SDG). They have been a leader in the sector with their sustainability initiatives, and they will bring to HPRC their years of invaluable experience and industry insights.

Environmentally conscious sustainability initiatives at Edwards concentrate on a number of topics, such as cutting greenhouse gas emissions, supply chain management and resiliency, and materials and chemical stewardship.
In order to facilitate the recycling of healthcare plastics, HPRC is currently working on a number of initiatives. These initiatives include research into cutting-edge recycling technologies for recycling mixed stream healthcare plastics, a review of reverse logistics procedures for gathering, sorting, and preparing healthcare plastic waste for transport, as well as targeted outreach and engagement with recyclers.
