Kelly Giordano has been appointed Managing Director of Philanthropy at Webster Bank. She works in the Office of Corporate Responsibility, which is in charge of the Bank’s $6.5 billion multi-year Community Investment Strategy.
Giordano will oversee the Bank’s philanthropic strategy, grantmaking programs, and community sponsorships in her new post. She will also oversee the activities of the Webster Bank Charitable Foundation and spearhead bankwide programs such as the Bank’s award-winning United Way Workplace Campaign.
“Kelly brings tremendous experience to Webster, having served in senior positions in corporate philanthropy at Newman’s Own and Lehman Brothers,” said Marissa Weidner, Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer. “We look forward to leveraging Kelly’s expertise to support Webster’s philanthropic and community engagement efforts across our footprint.”
Giordano has approximately 25 years of experience in philanthropy, the nonprofit sector, and finance/corporate. She was most recently a consultant for Wellness in the Schools and Connecticut Public Broadcasting. She formerly worked at Newman’s Own Foundation for almost ten years, where she handled the organization’s global grants budget for the 100% profits-to-charity consumer packaged goods business. Previously, Giordano worked as a vice president at Lehman Brothers’ Corporate Philanthropy group and as the Assistant Treasurer.
Bucknell University awarded Giordano a bachelor’s degree in economics/finance and Spanish. She has been on the boards of the Connecticut Council for Philanthropy and the Norwalk Education Foundation.
