HanesBrands: Creating Opportunities for Kids

HanesBrands – Due to the lack of athletic facilities at the nearby schools, this relationship presents chances that did not exist before. In order to assist the children of HBI associates and other children in the surrounding areas, the programme also collaborates with public schools close to the HBI industrial sites in El Salvador.

HBI also sent more than 5,000 Champion apparel items to help the programme and inspire these student-athletes to keep up their achievements.

Soccer is a fundamental component of childhood in Central America, according to Teddy Mendoza. “We partner with the FESA Foundation because we think that sports are a great way to engage with kids in our communities, keep them focused on their education, and give them life opportunities,” he added.

16 programme participants were chosen to participate in the third division of the national soccer league of El Salvador this year, and one received a full scholarship to the FESA charter high school.

“We’ve observed time and time again that helping students also helps their families and communities. We are ecstatic to support these student-athletes in their success “said Ingrid Sanchez Landos, HBI’s director of corporate social responsibility.
