On November 22, 2022, in Ontario, 3BL Media – One of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, MediaCorp has named Medtronic Canada ULC, a division of Medtronic plc and a global leader in healthcare technology.
The nationwide Canada’s Top 100 Employers competition, which honours the most forward-thinking and innovative businesses based on a list of eight criteria, is in its 23rd year. It identifies the Canadian employers who set the bar for workplace excellence in their respective fields.
“Sheri Dodd, President of Medtronic Canada, declares, “I’m proud of the special position we’ve earned in the Canadian health ecosystem as a global leader in healthcare technology with more than 50 years as a reliable partner in Canada. “Our enduring mission, which tests us, serves as our guide.
We can develop, innovate, and provide better care for our patients, customers, and employees when we have a diverse staff and an inclusive workplace, says Dodd. “In general, talent joins us because they want to have a positive impact on people’s lives.”

This kind of thinking is put into practice by Guy Losier, a respiratory therapist in the critical care industry. With the company’s assistance, Losier discussed his Mi’kmaq heritage and organized a group of staff to create a First Nations, Inuit, and Metis resource group so the business could understand and support Indigenous communities and coworkers.
Losier stated, “Medtronic Canada is devoted to developing a sense of belonging and acknowledging the value of every employee. “My coworkers embrace cultural diversity, which enables us to work together and invent to improve the health and quality of life for people.

In terms of knowing that diversity and inclusion will improve a firm, Dodd says Medtronic Canada has actually been consistent across geographies in its focus on tradition and culture. “Our employee-run resource groups are strong and diverse representations of the clients we serve.”
Nearly 70 medical diseases are treated with the help of Medtronic devices, making it the largest employer in Canada’s healthcare technology sector.
