Northern Trust Hosts Second Charity Trading Day To Benefit Four Global Charities

Northern Trust

Northern Trust celebrated its second Charity Trading Day, with workers worldwide taking part to benefit four global charities aligned with the company’s charitable approach.

A total of $700,000 will be donated to the charities Global Red Cross and Red Crescent Network, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), War Child, and World Central Kitchen as part of Achieving Greater Together, Northern Trust’s signature month of service.

Northern Trust workers and clients will also devote thousands of volunteer hours to a variety of charity’ projects around the world in the coming year. Northern Trust Asset Servicing is leading the global endeavor, which coincides with the company’s long-term community investment philosophy of providing more possibilities for long-term financial success to those who have been disadvantaged.

“Our first Charity Trading Day in 2022 benefited global housing non-profit Habitat for Humanity International, with our employees donating many volunteering hours as well,” stated Pete Cherecwich, president of Northern Trust Asset Servicing. “This year, we are delighted to make an even greater impact in our communities by supporting charities that collectively align with all four pillars of Northern Trust’s philanthropic focus: accessible healthcare, affordable housing, and sustainable communities.”

Charity Trading Day is a key component of Asset Servicing’s assistance for Northern Trust’s philanthropic agenda. Hundreds of Asset Servicing workers, ranging from trading and operations to client servicing and compliance, followed the sun across Capital Markets trading desks beginning in Sydney and continuing to Singapore, London, and Chicago.

“The exceptional support of our clients and trading partners has been invaluable in helping us spread awareness for these deserving causes,” said Guy Gibson, worldwide head of Northern Trust Capital Markets, Banking, and Treasury Services. “We are also grateful to our employees who volunteered during the month of Achieving Greater Together in further support of their missions.”

Following the month of service in October, employees will have the chance to volunteer with clients for charities through 2024, in keeping with Northern Trust’s commitment to giving back to the communities in which we live and work.

Northern Trust Capital Markets* is a brokerage firm that also offers foreign exchange, securities financing, and transition management services. Northern Trust Asset Servicing is a part of Northern Trust Asset Servicing, which provides asset servicing, fund administration, and middle office solutions to institutional asset managers and asset owners worldwide.
