OPI State of the Industry Report 2022-2023

Industry Report 2022-2023 – The year 2022 was a difficult one for the business products (BP) sector. The world was impacted by widespread shortages of raw materials, inflation, and significant currency swings as it began to gradually recover from the COVID pandemic, as well as by the far-reaching repercussions of that conflict in Ukraine.

All of these elements have compelled BP distributors and providers to consider many important issues:

What has been happening with volume demand in 2022, despite the fact that prices have been rising, and what strategies are being implemented to reduce the effects of any declining sales and market volumes?

What effects has the conflict in Ukraine had?

What effect did the Euro and pound’s decline against the US dollar have?

What can resellers do to counteract Amazon’s present market dominance and that of Amazon Business?

All of these important questions require dependable responses from respected sources. The senior executives of major BP firms in Australia, Benelux, Canada, France, Germany, the UK, and the USA were interviewed in-depth and online for “The State Of The BP Industry 2022-2023,” the tenth edition of Martin Wilde Associates’ (MWA) and OPI’s annual research study, to get the answers.

The survey will, as usual, concentrate on the key KPIs for the sector:

What are the general revenue and margin trends for respondents in 2022 and 2023?

What proportion of distributors’ sales in 2022 and 2023 will be made up of JanSan supplies, breakroom/catering supplies, workwear/PPE, and MPS?

In 2022 and 2023, what proportion of resellers’ sales will be made online?

What will be the typical order value for resellers in 2022 and 2023?
What will the market for essential office supplies be worth in 2022 and 2023?
