Peloton Awarded With Community Builder Award
On Friday, September 30th, Peloton and The Local Initiatives Support Corporation received the Community Builder Award at the Women’s Housing and Economic Development Corporation (WHEDco) Benefit and Ballgame (LISC). The yearly celebration, which takes place at Yankee Stadium, honors the vital work done by WHEDco and the Bronx communities they assist.
Along with our partner, LISC, we completely outfitted the Bronx Commons fitness centre with Peloton and Precor equipment and gave all inhabitants of Bronx Commons free 2-year Peloton App memberships. The organization’s committed wellness personnel and programming, such as Bronx Commons’ family assistance, fresh food, arts, community, cultural, and green aspects, are supported in part by our relationship.

Instructor Kirsten Ferguson joined the Peloton Social Impact team to celebrate. While accepting the award on the company’s behalf, Ferguson spoke passionately about the value of expanding access to health and wellness: “WHEDco’s belief that all people deserve healthy, sustainable, and vibrant communities is exactly what we seek to foster through our work at Peloton.”
With the help of LISC, Peloton has opened up two more community wellness centres: one in Toledo with the Wayman Palmer YMCA and one in Southwest Chicago with Claretian Associates. These investments represent our ongoing efforts to carry out the promises made in the Peloton Pledge to increase accessibility to physical fitness and mental wellness in the international markets where Peloton operates.
