Remake urges brands to adopt buyer codes

According to the Remake workers’ rights NGO, fashion retailers and brands should ratify “buyer codes of conduct” to safeguard the rights of employees throughout their international supply chains.

Many fashion firms have created supplier codes of conduct that outline the expectations they have of the manufacturers that make their items, including requirements for workers’ rights.

The “Responsible Purchasing Code of Conduct,” also known as the “Buyer Code of Conduct,” was developed by a working group of the American Bar Association, but Remake asserts that they should also assume their fair share of responsibility by committing to it.
