Steel Blue CEO Garry Johnson to retire
Steel Blue CEO – Garry Johnson, who has worked for Steel Blue for the past 14 years, will step down as chief executive officer with effect from June 2023.
The desire to retire and spend more time with his family is what led Mr. Johnson to make this choice. He’ll stay with Steel Blue until July 2023 to make sure the changeover is seamless.
Steel Blue is a premium safety footwear brand with 100 percent Australian ownership that constantly innovates to create work boots that are cosy, secure, and long-lasting.
The position of CEO will be filled by Mr. Peter Bell beginning in June 2023. Peter, a seasoned professional who has worked with Steel Blue for eleven years, is the company’s current CFO.

Peter has directed our innovation division for the past three years and has served as our Chief Strategist for the past five years.
